I had the chance to see Dean Brown with Gene Lake in Moscow and it was a pretty nice gig. Now we have Dennis Chambers and Will Lee, lots of funky grooves and slapping bass. Other than classic funk/fusion, we hear several grooves going over the bar-line letting us experience polyrhythmic funk  patterns along with solid control.
